Home Remedies for Itchy Skin

You can also try using peppermint when you take a bath. Just put peppermint in your bathing water. You will feel a soothing sensation once you get wet. Peppermint baths are known to heal irritations of the skin. It is an effective home remedy for itching.

A fast relief for itching is applying cod liver oil or aloe vera to the affected area. Cod liver oil soothes the itchy feeling by moisturizing the affected area, while aloe vera has an anti-itch component.

Another way of stopping the irritating itch in your skin is applying a paste of honey and cinnamon powder. Mix an equal amount of the two ingredients. Apply the mixture to the affected skin area. Another good home remedy for itching is baking powder paste. Just mix in two tablespoons of baking soda into half a cup of water. Apply this concoction to the affected area. See the result after a few minutes.

Lastly, avoid eating salty food. Salt triggers itching. It can irritate the skin easily. People with very sensitive skin should keep this in mind.
